Privacy Policy

Ora is a Catholic prayer companion for Android, made by U3 Studio. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. In short: there are no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics, and most of what you do stays on your phone.

What stays on your device

Your prayer sessions, the reflections you write after praying, your mood check-ins, your past guidance, and your settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We cannot see them. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them permanently.

What is sent when you ask for guidance

When you use the Companion, the mood you choose and anything you write about what is on your heart are sent to our server so a response can be written for you. Our server passes that text to a third-party AI language model provider to generate the guidance, and returns the answer to your device.

• Our server does not save the mood or text you send, or the guidance it returns.
• The AI provider processes the text under its own terms and privacy policy. Please avoid including names or other details that could identify you or anyone else.
• If you never use the Companion, nothing you write leaves your phone.

What our server keeps

To keep the service from being abused without asking you to sign up, the app creates a random identifier for your installation. Our server stores that identifier together with a temporary access token and its expiry time. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or Google account, and we collect none of those.

Services from Google

The app uses Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of Ora. This involves Google receiving information about your device and app installation, as described in Firebase's privacy information. Downloading the app through Google Play is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Permissions

• Internet, to request guidance from our server.
• Do Not Disturb access, only if you grant it, so the Sanctuary can silence notifications while you pray and turn them back on when you finish or leave.

The app does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photos.

Gifts

If you choose to leave a gift, the link opens Ko-fi in your browser. Any payment is handled by Ko-fi under its own privacy policy; we do not receive your card details.

Children

Ora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device. Access tokens on our server expire on their own. If you would like us to delete the identifier linked to your installation sooner, email us at [email protected] and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
